Human Development Services

Helping individuals develop the behavioral, adaptive, and life skills needed to thrive throughout life.

Human Development reflects the broader purpose of MPCC's work: helping people build meaningful skills that support participation, independence, and quality of life across home, school, work, and community settings. Services are individualized around each person's strengths, needs, priorities, and goals and may draw upon principles of learning, behavior, education, and skill development as appropriate.

Eligibility, availability, and funding options vary by service. We'll help you understand the options that may apply to the services you're interested in.

Human Development services may support goals related to communication, social participation, executive functioning, self-management, coping and flexibility, daily living, self-advocacy, community participation, and greater independence.

Services are individualized based on the person's strengths, priorities, goals, and the specific skills they want or need to develop.

Human Development describes the broader purpose of helping people build skills for meaningful participation and greater independence throughout life. ABA is a distinct clinical service grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Principles of learning and behavior may inform Human Development services when appropriate, while the services themselves remain distinct from clinical ABA therapy. The approach used depends on the service, the individual's goals and needs, and the professional scope in which the service is provided.
